Artificial intelligence (AI) is on the rise both in business and in the world in general. How beneficial is it really to your business in the long run? Sure, it can take over those time-consuming and mundane tasks that are bogging your employees down, but at what cost? With AI spending expected to reach $46 billion by 2020, according to an IDC report, there’s no sign of the technology slowing down. Adding AI to your business may be the next step as you look for ways to advance your operations and increase your performance. To understand how AI will impact your business going forward, 14 members of Forbes Technology Council weigh in on the concerns about artificial intelligence and provide reasons why AI is either a detriment or a benefit to society. Here is what they had to say:

[시사점]
우리가 원하건 원하지 않건, 인공지능은 우리 앞에 와 있다. 앞으로 더 가까이 올 것이다. 지금이라도, 인공지능이 우리 생활에 더 깊숙이 들어가기 전에, 즉 산업화되기 전에 인간의 삶을 지킬 수 있는 다양한 규제를 만들어야 한다.
개인적으로 인공지능과 관련하여 가장 걱정되는 것은 ‘인공지능의 진화’이다. 스스로 공부할 수 있는 단계까지 와 있으니 이제 곧 스스로 진화까지 할 것이다. 그게 가장 두렵다. 그 전에 우리는 인공지능을 확실히 통제할 수 있는 안전장치를 만들어 둬야 한다. 그래야 인공지능이 인간의 일을 대신할 때 우리는 안심하고 ‘창의적인 일’에 매달릴 수 있다. 과학의 발전과 함께 인공지능기술은 계속 발전해야 한다. 중요한 점은, 이러한 모든 발전은 인간의 상태를 개선하는 데 초점을 맞추어야 한다는 것이다. 즉 기술의 발전이 인류의 수준을 높이고, 우리가 더 나은 수준의 삶을 살 수 있게 하는 쪽으로 발전해야 한다.
문제 하나 내면서 글을 마무리한다. 인공지능으로 움직이는 무인자율주행 자동차가 있다. 이 자동차가 사고를 냈다면, 그 사고의 책임은 누구에게 있는가. 자동차를 만든 회사? 인공지능에게 운전을 맡긴 운전자? 인공지능이 움직이는 사회적 기반을 제대로 갖추지 못한 정부? 과연 그 사고의 책임은 누구에게 있을까?
